Last night the Diablos got their revenge from a tough loss two weeks ago when the Gators pounded their B squad 11-3. They victimized our guest goaltender Sam Desalvo and the rest of the Gators and took the season series with an 11-5 win.

The Diablos scored 2 quick goals on consecutive quick shots from Brent Warren from the point and added another to take a 3-0 lead before you could say "Gator Bite." Brian Mellor exchanged some pleasantries with Warren and drew a penalty but the Gator offense just couldn't get it's engine started and they fell behind 5-0.

Finally, the Gators broke through when Brian Pasono pounced on a rebound and snuck it past Diablo goaltender Mandy Smock. Jeremy Christiansten stole one from Warren and found the back of the net to give the Gators some hope. The comeback was thwarted when the Diablos got a few insurance goals from Larry Ognibene and Michel Fournelle. Steve Rowe and Brian Drake added 2 more for the Gators in garbage time and the clock ran out at the hands of the mercy rule with the 6 goal lead intact for the Diablos.

Labatt Blue Light was on ice in the locker room and it, along with some quotes from Happy Gilmore helped to ease the sting of this loss. We'll get 'em next time boys.
