04.26.05 Game Report vs Main Place
Last night the Gators took on Main Place in the regular season finale. In previous meetings against MP, the Gators held a 3-1 advantage going in to this one. The two teams traded punches early, with Drake banging in a rebound followed by MP cashing in on a power play. Not long after that, Rowe on the forecheck stole one from a MP defenseman and scored on a breakaway with a fluttering shot over the left pad of MP's goalie. Main Place struck right back again though after banking one in behind Jerry Suplicki off of Tom Savage's kneepad. That goal was gorgonzola. It was cheesy and it sucked. (I hate gorgonzola, work with me) With the score tied at 2, Tom Savage while sprawled on the ice made a pool cue pass to Rowe who found Christensen wide open just outside the goal crease. Jeremy banged it home and the Gators took a lead they would not relinquish. Pasono added a few insurance goals including one on a laserbeam shot from the top of the circle that found the fivehole. It was about this time that Main Place started whining about "ringers." Check the roster boys, we're all legal. Nevermind the fact that if you're going to protest a game for illegal players the protest should come before the game starts, not after you decide to give up and stop skating. Final score 7-4. See you in the playoffs!!!! Tonight's 3 Stars 1. Jeremy Christensen - 2G 1A and 12 PIM's for MF'ing the referee. What a night!! 2. Jerry Suplicki - Made some tough saves when MP was within 2 3. Brian Pasono - 2 key goals and 0 PIM's |
