Since Team Log had a bye, the Stooges were free to play a game against another team last night and they met the Gators in the first round of the ESL Tuesday night playoffs.

For the second straight week, Brian Drake got the Gators going early after some constant pressure in the Stooges' zone yielded a rebound goal. Jeremy Christensen added another on the same shift and it was a quick 2-0 Gator advantage.

The Gator defense led by Tom Savage did an excellent job of shutting down the 1 skilled line the Stooges had on the ice. They kept everything pretty much to the outside and Jerry Suplicki rejected them time after time when they did manage to get between the circles.

The mercy rule had the clock running throughout the 3rd period. Insurance goals were added by Drake who completed his hat trick, Savage who found the top corner with a wrister from the top of the slot, Mellor with a top shelf laserbeam, Scully with a lunchpail goal off a rebound from Hiltz, and Christensen with the nail in the coffin on a breakaway at the end of the game.
