09.28.05 Gators Game Report vs The Beavers

Last night Gators Hockey officially arrived at Lakeshore Hockey Arena as the team donned it's traditional green & black Gator jerseys in their game against the Beavers.

The Gators controlled the puck for much of this game and applied seemingly constant pressure in the Beavers zone. 6 different players lit the lamp for the Gators in an outstanding team effort that resulted in a 6-2 win. This one could have been a lot worse were it not for the Beaver Dam in front of their net.

Chris Ryan got the Gators started when he cleaned up the mess left by Steve Rowe's failed breakaway attempt. Scott Magin got his 1st of the season on a nice feed from Bryan Curtis. The Gators kept pouring it on, as Rowe ripped a one-timer to the back of the net off a perfect cross ice pass from Jeff Curtis. Mike Kochersberger fired a wrister from just inside the blueline that found the twine and Chris Huber and Jeff Curtis added 2 more insurance goals.

Jerry Suplicki stood tall in the Gators net and bailed the team out after a few defensive lapses resulted in Beaver breakaways. The Gators could have let the Beavers right back in this game, but Jerry denied them each time.

In the lineup after the game one of the Beavers players was saying "Nice D guys...nice D" Oh thanks Boss!!!!
