08.23.05 Game Report vs Team Log
Last night the Gators took the ice against defending Tuesday night champs Team Log trying to avenge a 9-4 loss in their previous contest. After the officials ran the obligatory minute off the clock before they dropped the puck, they were ready to start the game and their avalanche of bad calls. Like they almost always do, the Gators dug themselves an early hole, falling behind 2-0 early in the first. Jeremy Christensen set up Steve Rowe for the 1st Gator goal, then tied the game at 2 with a blast that found the back of the net. The Gators took the lead when Christensen went coast to coast and ripped a slap shot past TL's goalie. From there the teams traded goals, with Brent Warren cashing in on a couple heavy shots. Team Log led 7-5 after the 2nd period but the Gators would take advantage of a 5 on 3 power play to pull within 1. Then they took advantage of a short TL bench and poured on the pressure, scoring 2 quick goals to take the lead at 8-7. Billy Christman converted on a pretty breakaway move for the insurance goal and the Gators finally got a win against Team Log after 3 straight seasons coming up short against them. Final score was Gators 10 Team Log 7.
