Week 10 -
11.22.06 Gators vs The Antiques
In a tough game against The Antiques Wednesday night, the
Gators managed to come back from behind slowly, but ultimately
lost 4-3. Despite the game taking place the night before
Thanksgiving Day, there was a decent turnout of players.
Slightly outnumbered, the Gators played the first period
without scoring. The Antiques scored twice in the first,
and but then the Gators came back immediately with just
one minute into the second, on Brian Pasono's (17) goal
off assist from Brian Drake (18), and Dave Salafia (15).
Shortly after, The Antiques scored again.. and then again:
leaving the Gators down 4-1. Just before the end of the
second period, however, Brian Drake (18) scored off Frank
Warner (5) and Pasono's assists, giving the team another
chance at a comeback.
At the start of the third period, the Gators managed one
more goal by Pasono, off an assist by Jack Hibit (9), leaving
the score where the game would end: 4-3. The rest of the
game was played hard and both teams focused mainly on defense,
trying to keep shots on net down.
Playing especially well was Warner, Pasono, Salafia, and
Bryan Curtis, all playing especially well offensively and
defensively. Goalie Jerry Suplicki had a great game, keeping
out twenty of twenty four shots on goal. Missing five men,
the Gators still had a good game, and kept up with their
opponents all night. Better luck next game!
