Week 12 -
12.06.06 Gators vs Bull Dogs
In a tough game against the Bulldogs this past Wednesday,
The Gators held strong, but with five penalties on them
alone, and having to come back from the very beginning,
the team couldn't even the score, and ended up losing 7-4.
The Bulldogs scored halfway into the first period, followed
by a responding goal from Gator Jack Hibit (9), assisted
by Brian Pasono, after his first stint in the penalty box
for the night. Again, The Bulldogs scored, and Brian Drake
came back with the Gators' second goal (assisted by Hibit
and Steve Randall (10)), keeping the game close. The Bulldogs
scored once more, however, with just one second left on
the clock in the first period, leaving the game at 3-2 headed
into the second.
Defense kept extra tight throughout the second period, helping
Jerry Suplicki (35) keep out every attempted shot made on
the net for the period. Pasono was injured moments into
the period, and sat out until halfway through, until he
came back and scored the lone goal of the period (assisted
by Hibit and Randall), and then was quickly sent to the
penlty box once again, almost immediately following Doug
Gardner's (4) penalty.
The third period, however, the Gators were not as fortunate.
Missing Seth Sealfon (2) to a penalty, The Bulldogs scored
on a powerplay, and then once more before the Gators could
come back with another goal of their own, bringing the score
to 5-4. The last Gator goal was scored by Jim Suplicki (19),
off the opposing goalie's clear up the ice. With one more
penalty in the game by Chris Ryan (27), and The Bulldogs
two more goals, the game finally ended 7-4.
Despite a particularly violent game, the Gators played well,
and fairly, even managing to outshoot their opponents. Hopefully
next week's game will bring back that winning spirit.

Christine quote: {Ok, so I ordered a whole pitcher that
Wednesday, thinking I'd at least drink it with Brian's
friend who never showed, or at least your dad
but
I ended up drinking the WHOLE THING myself
so, the
shots sort of ran together and both the second and third
periods
then I hit on Jack in the bar and spilled
Brian's water
so
sorry if I missed a few shots!
