02.08.06 Game Report vs The Cuzzies
Wednesdays was unbelievable! The Gators began with a fast-paced first
period against the Cuzzies, keeping defense tight and scoring high.
Leading 6-0 in the first twelve minutes of the game, Brian Pasono (17)
started the scoring off before he ran into trouble with opposing players.
By the end of the night, Pasono racked up three goals and one assist.
Mirroring his stats for the night, Dave Salafia (15) also claimed three
and one-the second goal being the result of a well-deserved penalty
shot for being roughed up on the ice.
A surprising trio that swept the ice: Jim Suplicki (19), Brian Drake
(18), and John Davie (76). On three of the ten goals that night, these
three Gators passed with precision, aimed, and scored big. Jim Suplicki
assisted twice, Drake scored twice and assisted one, and Davie scored
twice and assisted twice, despite an ongoing scuffle with a player for
the Cuzzies - landing him in the penalty box later in the night. Davie
wasn't alone, however. Chris Ryan soon followed suit and retaliated
after being manhandled by two opponents, making it to the penalty box
while one of the Cuzzies was sent to the showers.
Additional assists that night: Seth Sealfon (4), Frank Warner, Greg
Williams, and Jerry Suplicki all had one. Warner did a great job on
defense again, and Williams has improved his game immensely since Monday
night's game. Jerry Suplicki ended his night with 32 saves, and stole
his first shutout of the season. The Gators had a total of 59 shots
on the Cuzzies' goal that night. It's not surprise they're still undefeated.
Great game, guys!
