02.22.06 Game Report vs The Beavers

Everyone loves a man who can handle a beaver properly... and last night, the Gator guys proved their abilities. Slightly outnumbered, the men took control of the game from the very beginning and didn't let up. Barely two minutes into the game, Chris Ryan scored the first goal, setting the pace for the rest of the night. Soon after, the Gators scored again, then let the first of two Beaver goals in before coming back with two more goals, one of which was an impressive shot by Jim Suplicki (19), scoring the fourth goal immediately off the face-off, with only twenty seconds left in the period.
The second period started off just as strong, with four more goals scored by the Gators. Jerry Suplicki (35) made 26 saves, keeping the Beavers' scoring to a minimum. One final goal from the Gators would have left the score at 9-1, but with only 45 seconds left in the third, the Beavers made a mad dash for Suplicki (35) and got the last goal of the game in. The Gators won 9-2.
Just about every player had his moment of glory in either scoring or assisting, or both. Scoring for the night were Dave Salafia (15) with two goals and two assists, Suplicki (19) with two goals, two assists, and Pasono (17), Drake (18), Brian Curtis (21), Chris Ryan (27), and John Scully (32) all with one goal each, and at least one assist. Also assisting: Jerry Suplicki (35), Scott Magin (3) with two assists, three falls, and issues with two opponents; and Frank Warner (5) with two assists, and a little rough play, ultimately sending his Beaver to the box (pun intended...). Skating hard during the game: Pasono (17) who stayed back and played some defense, Drake (18), getting to the puck on both sides of the ice, Curtis (21), with some great passing and plays in front of the net, Scully (32), who flew in all the way from PA to make the game and score an unexpected goal, and Salafia (15), after an encouraging, "Where the **** is the center?!" from Suplicki (35) in goal. Nice job, everyone!
