The Gators played a hard game against 2 Left Feet October 10th, and came out victoriously despite a bevy of penalties throughout the evening. While 2 Left Feet began the penalties, The Real Estate Rocket - Dave Salafia (15) started the scoring off mid-way through the first period, assisted by Brian Pasono (17) and Jim Suplicki (19). Moments later, John Scully (32) hammered one in off assists from Dave Varecka (18) and Seth Sealfon (2). By the end of the second period, the Gators were up 2-0, but had incurred four penalties, and defenseman Frank Warner (5) was ejected from the remainder of the game.

Varecka (18) scored the third Gator goal early in the period, assisted by Chris Ryan (27) and Brian Pasono (17). 2 Left Feet had a near goal soon after, but nothing that was officially counted until the very end of the period, after another Gator shot was put in by Salafia (15), helped in by nearly the entire line on the ice. The Gators were up 4-2 heading into the third period; and had racked up one ejected player, a broken stick, and nine silly penalties (and counting…)

Slightly discouraged and possibly worn down, the Gators' third period was not as productive as the previous two. Scully (32) scored his second goal of the night, but 2 Left Feet scored two more, resulting in a difficult 5-4 win for the Gators; but a win nonetheless.

With the exception of the second period, shots remained even during the hard-hitting game, ending at 39 (Gators) to 48 (2 Left Feet). In total, the Gators -typically known for their fair, NON-aggressive games, were hit with twelve surprising penalties. 2 Left Feet, a group of men more commonly known for their unseen penalties, had nine in all. Each Gator did his shore holding tight on defense in order to maintain the lead, but goalie Jerry Suplicki (35) had an especially amazing game in the net.
